My whole life has been about inner cultivation and growth, and for a long time I made the mistake of looking up at the heavens for insight, inspiration and awakening.
I was looking in the wrong place.
Salvation does not come from the heavens, salvation comes from the depths of hell. When I dared look deep into my own subconscious, the shadow. The parts of me that my identity and ego tries so hard to keep hidden from me. This was when I found an ocean of answers and found some freedom and peace.
Kung Fu, unlike many other more popular paths of cultivation very quickly forces you to engage with your shadow and your excuses that hide this shadow.
As a teacher, I take my role very seriously. I never let any of my students rest for too long in their comfort zone, I ask them to question their legitimate sounding excuses, really question them.
The answer to these questions are often painful and traumatic. But it is the first step to unravelling the knot that is blocking the path to growth and freedom.
