Another Year Passes – End of Year Thoughts
As we wrap up the year, I want to thank all of you for being an integral part of our Kung Fu Zone family.
It’s been a year of rebuilding and growth after a long period of restrictions on our ability to train properly, and we couldn’t have done it without our amazing students.
As most of you know, Kristina and I are parents to two young children. The youngest one was born a few months before the lockdowns started. At the start of 2022, Kristina and I saw the social harm the restrictions had done to our two young children. We decided to focus on creating a place where children from the local area can come and train, learn discipline, perseverance, respect and, of course, have fun through the timeless lessons of traditional Kung Fu. We wanted to focus on growing the children’s part of our Kung Fu School, and we are proud to say that our children’s classes have absolutely exploded! We are currently running eight children’s classes a week.
Our adult classes have also grown; students are joining us in person and online worldwide! I have noticed this year that many of my senior students are getting very good at Kung Fu & Shuang Yang Taichi. I have also noticed that beginners joining the club are looking up to our seniors and pushing to improve faster. Kristina and I have seen so much progress and growth from our members this year. It’s truly inspiring.
As we move into the new year, we have some exciting plans. After three years teaching as an Assistant Instructor, with unwavering resilience and enthusiasm through the restrictions, and being an all-round great example to students, I am immensely proud to have promoted James Warburton to Full Instructor. He will open a Kung Fu Zone branch in High Wycombe around the spring of 2023. We’ll also be introducing new classes, holding seminars and entering competitions. We can’t wait to see what you’re all capable of when you push yourselves to the next level.
So here’s to the year ahead! Thank you for being a part of our Kung Fu family and for allowing and trusting us to teach you such timeless arts. Whether you’re new to Kung fu or have been practising for years, our school is a place where you can learn, grow, and thrive. All Kung Fu Zone instructors and assistant instructors will continue providing a supportive and inclusive environment for all our members. Keep pushing yourself, never stop learning and growing, and always strive for excellence in your training and life.
We wish you a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and we can’t wait to see what 2023 brings.
